![]() ![]() Great job, Sony! When I first heard about Remote Play, my first thought was, "Why would I want to stream my PS4 games to my PC?" Now I get it, and it's beautiful. It's easy enough to switch back, so it's no big deal.Īpart of those, admittedly small grievances, I'm very impressed. The second is that every time I plug the controller in, it automatically overrides my audio settings. I presume this has something to do with drivers and the data being transmitted between the 2 devices. The first is that I cannot use the controller wirelessly without PS's proprietary dongle (the controller has Bluetooth capabilities, but connecting is via Bluetooth only shows it as a wireless controller, instead of a Dualshock 4). Honestly, if I HAD to come up with complaints, I can only think of 2. Option 2: Wireless Remote Play on PC I’ve been using option 1 for the last year or so. Voila You can now play remote play on your computer as long as you are within Bluetooth range of your ps4 system. I've put 30 or so hours into Horizon with Remote Play and am in love. From the Remote Play app, go to Settings > Power > Switch user. ![]() As soon as I went from wireless to plugged in, any frame drops I had vanished. With less than 5 minutes of set-up, but PS4 now sits on my computer desk, no HDMI cable plugged in, and I simply launch the remote play app through Steam as I do all of my other games. I can't remember how I found it, but I stumbled across something called Remote Play, and looked into it. So I looked into hooking my PS4 into one of my 2 monitors, and just swapping back and forth between my PC and my PS4, maybe getting a switcher at some point to simplify the process. I tried playing Horizon on my TV, which is wall mounted, and honestly, too small for games. I just wanted to talk about how awesome this is. ![]()
